"Science Vixen"
Cool, Logical and Full Blood Vulcan - Star Trek Babe Jolene Blalock tells Paul Hirons about life on Enterprise.

Captains log: stardate, 2002. Jolene Blalock, a former model, is reclining on a pure white sofa: a suitably space-sage setting for the latest Star Trek babe. After bit parts in Sky One's Good Vs Evil and Veronica's Closet, Jolene was chosen to play Vulcan T'Pol in the latest Star Trek series enterprise: and her exotic good looks and stunning figure made her a natural when trying on the uniform for the first time. (her catsuit's is so tight it's like a second skin.) But when you meet her, it's not her looks that unsettle you, but the strange urge to serenade her with the Dolly Parton song 'Jolene'. Urges suppressed and embarrassment over, we talk Star Trek history.

"I grew up with Bons, Spock and Kirk.." she says. "I loved all that 'green-blooded fool' stuff." But unlike her school friends, the machismo of Kirk didn't impress her. Asked to name her favourite, Jolene practically shouts the answer: "Spock! He was the man!" Following in the footsteps of her childhood hero is something Jolene is thrilled about.

"I'm ecstatic!" she says. "Not only do I get to precede him: I get to do the first Vulcan mind-meld - we're making history." And that means she's also becoming part of the Star Trek legend - Trekkie trivia has already established Jolene has an outie belly button. So how does she feel about this much-talked quirk? "Well, there's an innie and an Audie," she laughs. "I've got a Volvo. A Volvo is best!" Who says Vulcans don't have a sense of humour?
